Dr Samantha Battams

Dr Samantha Battams has qualifications in public health, health service management and social sciences. She has mostly recently been researching and teaching in public health and has a PhD in public health policy. The focus of her PhD research was enablers and barriers in policy processes leading to housing outcomes for people with a psychiatric disability. Prior to joining the university sector, she worked in the health and community services sector for 10 years, including in community development, project and programme management, development, implementation and evaluation roles, and strategic planning, and spent 7 years with general practice organisations. Since 2005 she has been a panel assessor (community) on the District Court of South Australia hearing appeals made under the Guardianship and Mental Health Acts.
